On November 18 public transport will be for free, extra runs will be launched

„Rīgas satiksme” reminds that  on November 18 Riga residents and guests will be able to use free of charge the city’s public transport (trams, trolleybuses and buses), as well as  pay parking lots operated by „Rīgas satiksme”, except the underground car-park at Kr.Valdemāra Street 5a, where parking will be paid for according to the current tariffs.

The public transport will run on November 18 according to holiday schedules. Minibuses will run according to Sunday and holiday schedules. We remind that trips in minibuses are to be paid for as usually.

For passengers to go comfortably to and return from places where festive events will be held,  additional runs of public transport will depart from the city on November 18 from 18:00 till 24:00. There will be extra runs on the following public transport routes: bus routes No. 2, 3, 11, 12, 12/23/26 (combined, runs across Akmens Bridge), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 41, 50, 51, 52, 53, tram routes No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11, and trolleybus rotes No. 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27.

Additional runs of public transport on November 18

During the parade of the National Armed Forces delays of pubic transport are possible on the routes going by Akmens Bridge, Aspazijas Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard, Merķeļa Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street and Bruņinieku Street.

During the mach of torches from 18:00 till 20:00 short delays of pubic transport are possible on the routes going by Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street and Zigfrīda Annas Meierovica Boulevard.

During the festive event and the President’s Speech at the Freedom Monument, from 19:00 till 20:30  short delays of pubic transport are possible on the routes going by Zigfrīda Annas Meierovica Boulevard, Aspazijas Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Boulevard and Brīvības Street.

During the fireworks there will be delays of public transport on routes crossing Akmens Bridge and  Vanšu Bridge, and bus No. 22 will run across Salu Bridge. Bus No. 22 will run by the route to stop „Central Railway Terminal”, then turn about in the opposite direction and go along Gogoļa Street, Lāčplēša Street, across Salu Bridge, in Mūkusalas Street, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, Uzvaras Boulevard and further by the route. In the changed part of the route, the buses will stop at all public transport stops. Stops „13th January Street” and „Grēcinieku Street” will not be closed, and stop „National Library” will be transferred behind the crossing of Uzvaras Boulevard and Valguma Street.

Customer service centres will be closed on November 18. On the holiday eve, November 17, the customer service centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be open from 8:00 till 17:00, other customer service centre will be open on November 17 as usually on working days – until 19:00.
